Graca Machel gets 90 days to decide on Mandela’s will

Nelson Mandela’s widow, Graca Machel, has been granted 90 days to decide on whether she will waive her right to half of Mandela’s estate or not.

The Deputy Chief Justice, Dikgang Moseneke, made the disclosure on Tuesday when he read the will.

Following the release of the will on Monday, the provisional assessment of Mandela’s estate was about 4.6 million dollars.

Anti-gay law: Gay Nigerians flood Netherlands embassy seeking asylum

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Nigeria has confirmed that it has received some applications for asylum by some Nigerians who fear persecution following the recent signing into law the anti-gay bill by President Jonathan, Thisday reports.

Netherlands is a gay-friendly country. The embassy sent an email to Thisday some days ago saying that despite receiving these applications, it was neither involved in processing any application for asylum seekers nor does it have the power to grant asylum to applicants.
"The embassy has received a small number of applications for asylum by Nigerians. It is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy. We inform the applicants likewise but we do not register the number of applications made. At this stage, it is not possible to make predictions. That would be speculation. However, when people become increasingly aware that it is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy, one could expect a decrease. The embassy is not involved in the asylum process, neither in the application nor in the determination of the authenticity of claims.”

On Monday February 3rd, current high life king, Flavour visited his Alma Mater, College of the Immaculate Conception, CIC, Enugu were he passed out from 14 years ago.

The singer, who was dressed in the school's uniform, went there to inspire and motivate the students. He also gave out full music instrumental set and some scholarship.

Dencia says Whitenicious will bleach if used all over the body

Dencia's recently launched skin care line, Whitenicious, is really bring her fame & recognition. She's  been featured on a few mainstream media platforms including MediaTakeOut, The Clutch and now Ebony magazine. In an interview with Ebony published on their site yesterday (Find it here) Dencia said Whitenicous has the ability to bleach the skin if used all over the skin. Excerpts below...

    Ebony: Your product is called Whitenicious, Of course people will buy it because they want to bleach.
 Dencia: Ok. Will Whitenicious bleach your skin if you use it on all your skin? Yes, it will. Are we selling Whitenicous for that purpose? No, we’re not. Whitenicous comes in 30 ml and 60ml. You cannot use the 60 ml to bleach your whole skin. It’s impossible. And that costs about $150 each. 60 ml can’t even go on your whole feet. I don’t see anybody spending all that money to bleach their entire skin. I don’t see that happening. Now, do I have customers who come and buy stuff for over $2000? Yes, I do. Do I ask them what they want to do with it? No, I don’t. Do I know what they want to do with it? No, I don’t care because it’s their money, it’s how they want to spend it.

Father & daughter drown as their vehicle plunge into Lagoon in Lagos

A man and his daughter on Tuesday morning February 4th drowned in Lagos as a Toyota SUV in which they were travelling fell off the Ikota Bridge in Ajah and plunged into a lagoon.

Mr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident in Lagos.

He said that the man’s wife was thrown out by the vehicle as it somersaulted before plunging into the lagoon.

The LASEMA official said the accident occurred at about 1.00 a.m., and that the dead bodies had been deposited at a mortuary while the woman was taken to a hospital. Continue..
