Scandal star Kerry Washington flashes dazzling diamond band on red carpet after secret wedding

 

Kerry Washington wed football star Nnamdi Asomugha in a super secret June ceremony in Idaho.
And the Scandal star put her wedding ring on display for the first time to attend the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour Disney/ABC party in Beverly Hills on Sunday.
Kerry's radiance matched the brilliant sparkler on her left hand, what appeared to be a band set with a myriad of diamonds all around.

The 36-year-old actress arrived to the event solo, looking fabulous in an orange and white patterned halterneck frock by designer Giambattista Valli.
As she posed on the carpet, Kerry took pride in showing off her new bauble as she clutched her petite beige Nancy Gonzalez handbag.

A pair of neutral-toned Christian Louboutin heels and gleaming Vhernier earrings completed her array of accessories.

Even though she had been dating the 31-year-old NFL star for a year, Washington's marriage was a surprise to some and became known days after after the hush-hush ceremony on June 24.
But then the actress is notoriously guarded when it comes to her private life.
Her Scandal co-star Tony Goldwyn admitted at Sunday's event that he 'sensed [a wedding] was on the way.'
Goldwyn added jokingly: 'Having been married for a very long time, I'm knowledgable enough to know that I can offer her no advice!'
Besides her new marriage, her first, Washington is also celebrating her Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series category.
She will be competing against such luminous stars as Connie Britton, Claire Danes, Michelle Dockery, Vera Farmiga, Elisabeth Moss and Robin Wright.
'It's pretty extraordinary what's going on,' Kerry told Us Weekly. 'I feel really grateful for the show. I love celebrating with the whole cast together.'
