Jermaine Jackson faces jail after over 'child support debts as ex-wife chases him over $12,000 backlog for their teen sons'

Facing jail: Jermaine Jackson could be sent to the Los Angeles County jail for owing ex-wife Alejandra, shown together in 2002, more than $12,000 in back child support

Jermaine Jackson may be sent to jail for not paying $12,000 in back child support payments to the mother of his two teenage sons.
The 58-year-old singer has been required to pay $3,000 a month to his ex-wife Alejandra Jackson in support of 17-year-old Jaafar and 13-year-old Jermajesty.
The Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department in April filed legal documents stating that the singer was a year behind in payments and owed $30,000.

The singer paid $33,000 in May in back child support but has only paid $85 of the remaining $12,000 he owes in back payments, according to an article in TMZ on Tuesday.
The Child Support Services Department recently filed documents asking a judge to hold Jermaine in contempt for not paying his child support and that could put him in jail for 20 days. He also recently had his wages garnished by his ex-wife.

The Don't Take It Personal singer in 2011 was ordered to pay Alejandra $80,000 in missed child support payments.
Jermaine claimed back then that he wasn't making his payments because he didn't have any money.
The Jackson 5 singer in 2007 appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK and in 2008 joined the Gone Country television show.

Alejandra and Jermaine were married in March 1995.
The two have three children together, including adopted son Donte who was born in 1992.
Alejandra used to be brother Randy Jackson's girlfriend and also has two children with him.

Father and sons: Jermaine, shown with his sons Jermasty and Jaafar in April in West Hollywood, California, could be sentenced to 20 days in jail if found in contempt
