Taylor Swift picks up four awards at the AMAs... and her strapless gold mini-dress is a winner in the style stakes

Big winner: Taylor Swift picked up four awards at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday What a transformation: Taylor Swift went for a daring new look in a gold mini-dress and tousled blonde waves at the American Music Awards on Sunday

She was one of the big winners in the fashion stakes at the American Music Awards on Sunday and Taylor Swift also triumphed, picking up four awards for her music.

The 23-year-old singer was named Artist of the Year, for the third time and also won Country Album Of The Year for Red and Favorite Female Country Artist and Pop/Rock Artist at the ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.

'My lucky number is 13, and so far you guys have made 2013 the most magical year of my life so far,' she gushed as she accepted the Artist of the Year award. 'I cannot thank you enough

Although the singer has worn dresses in the flattering shade to the awards show the past three years, for 2013 she decided to go all out bombshell, slashing the length and styling her blonde tresses into tousled waves.

The overall effect is reminiscent of Barbarella or a young Brigitte Bardot and Swift, 23, looked supremely confident as she strutted along the red carpet in a gold, strapless mini-dress from Julien Macdonald and matching Jimmy Choo sandals.

Of course, it’s not surprising that Taylor was out to look her best with both her former boyfriend Harry Styles and his rumoured latest love interest Kendall Jenner in attendance.

Ironically, Taylor's gold dress was worn by model Rosie Huntington-Whitely during a photoshoot with Harry's band One Direction.

The British star donned the tiny gold ensemble for a Glamour magazine cover she appeared on with the group and Harry is sure to have remembered it when he saw it on his ex as she took to the stage.
